NewsBuckhorn Schooling Show – May 22Susie didn't make the trip with the team but somehow we manged. It was all about the 61% at the show. On her 3rd ride after a 5 week hiatus, Nancy and Curt scored a 61.6% and 3rd place finish in Training 4. Robert and Naroby were first in the First 4 class with a 61.5%. Dylan and Minerva repeated in the Second 1 class also with a 61.5% and first place finish! Dylan and Minerva should be ready for the Capital Classic. Dylan's quest for a Bronze medal is starting off well. Antares Schooling Show – May 15It felt like summer, with temperatures in the 90's. But hot weather can't keep Team Encore at home! Dylan showed Pam's mare Donatella for the first time and got a 66+% for his efforts. It was the first time the mare did First Level and she won her class! Susie tested the waters at Second Level with Nancy's horse Curt. A 60% was the minimum goal and Susie just made it with a 60.7%. It was a good first start with no mistakes, now it's time to ramp it up! Dressage in the Sandhills – May 7–9Crazy loose horses, high winds and warm weather did not keep Team Encore out of the ribbons at their second recognized show of the season. Once again Team Encore was successful. Meredith and Landgravin-W (66.04%) were the winners of the 4th level AA Sweepstakes. Mary and Leander were 5th in the PSG AA Sweepstakes. This was the first recognized show at fourth level for Meredith and PSG for Mary. Congrats!! Diana showed Mary's youngster Delmonico at his first recognized show. He was a star. He was in the mid to high 60's in 3 classes and got a 70.43% in his 4th Training level class. Woo hoo! Susie took Nico and Winnie as guest horses and they took all the activity in stride. Both were especially good when a loose horse took off right next to them near the barn. Susie can hop off fast when she needs to ;-). ![]() Antares Schooling Show – April 24Susie and Linda were the sole representatives for Team Encore. Both moved their mounts up to Training Level, and both were successful. Susie again showed Carla's Pieter and was 3rd at Intro with a 63.5 % and 2nd at Training 1 with a 64.7%. Linda and Tania's Mojo were right behind Susie with a 62% and 60.4% in the same classes. Both horses are getting to be “old pros” in the show ring! ![]() MacNair's Schooling Show – April 18Sally and Flash led the Team again with a pair of first place finishes at First 3 (64.8%) and First 4 (61.5%). Their prep for recognized shows continues to be successful. The March Magic crew was excited to be greeted by such success on their return to the farm! March Magic – March 26 – 28The first recognized show of the season was a successful one for Team Encore. Plus we had a ton of fun! Many thanks to Pat Horning for his excellent bartending skills at the end of long days. He is one indispensable team member. Teena and Paris made their debut at a recognized show and received 60+% scores in 6 out of 7 classes. We were all very proud of them. Nancy and Curt received qualifying scores in both of their Training 4 classes and they are now qualified for Regionals. Susie and Curt were Reserve Champions in the First Level Sotheby's Stakes class (67.3%). Friend of Team Encore Nanci Lindroth had a good weekend at 4th Level with her fancy mare Farah Diba F. Tanya and Fidget were thisclose to making their goal at First Level. Robert brought Naroby to school and they had a great time hacking around the facility. There are new rings, barns, lunging and schooling arenas. We were in the new barn and really liked the upgrades! There are asphalt aisles so no more red clay. There are ceiling fans, nice bathrooms and better controls on the water in the wash stalls. NC should do a good job hosting Regionals in this facility this fall. Antares Schooling Show – March 20After the successful showing of the Team at the first 2 schooling shows of the season, EVERONE wanted to go to Antares! Once again Team Encore did not disappoint. Mary made her PSG debut on Leander and received a 63.6%! Yay Mary!! Carla's young Fresian Pieter made his horse show debut and had a great first outing. A pair of 65's in both Intro classes made Carla very happy. Sue made the trip up from the coast with her mare Donna and scored in the 60's in both of her First Level classes. Carol was back in the saddle again, and she and Norman scored a 61.6% for a 4th place finish in the Training 4 class. Mary is counting the days til she rides him down centerline! Susie took Harmonik (“Nico”) to his first show of the season and he was a good boy. He had 2 third place finishes and was in the 60's for both rides. Sally and Flash continued their success at First Level scoring in the 60's and placing 3rd in both of their classes. Susie worked on tuning up Curt at First Level for March Magic. They scored in the mid 60's in both classes for 2nd and 4th place finishes. Pinehurst Schooling Show – February 28It was a cool but not exceptionally cold day at Pinehurst, but we were all just happy that the day was dry! Everyone was itching to get to the first schooling show of the season and Team Encore was ready! Linda rode Mojo at his first show ever and he was a star! He won both of his Intro classes (one with a 70%) and Tania was very proud. Free Agent (“Frankie”) attended his first show as a guest horse and you would never believe it was his first time off the farm. He was a perfect gentleman and totally underwhelmed by the whole experience. The judges were in a great mood and everyone was happy with their scores. Curt and Susie and Sally and Flash both broke the 70% mark at first level! |
